San Francisco 49ers - Collin Kaepernick & Madison Baumgartner - The Lesson - November 2014 News Blog

San Francisco 49ers could win easy or play more bite your nails games after their bye week in October. Compare for a moment the 49ers with the San Francisco Giants. This year the Giants supported their strength and used it wisely to win another World Series. Their hot hand was Madison Baumgartner, a 25 years old pitcher with great talent and expertise. Imagine if the baseball league, his coaches, and other players all talked Madison Baumgartner out of pitching the way he does. You throw too many breaking balls, or too many high pitches, or not enough change ups... etc etc. Can you remember what people said about Kaeperick and his Pistol offense? The Pistol was created by him and his coaches at Reno?  The national and local press, NFL stars, and other players were negative about Kaepernick using his Pistol in the NFL. I remember when Kaepernick was named the new starting QB for the 49ers?  The 49ers offence was making other teams look bad with the Pistol executed by Kaepernick according to his expertise and talent. People wanted San Francisco to go back under center and pile up running plays from the I or drop back pass or play from the shotgun or do anything except get better with that Pistol. Even if they used the wild cat... anything else except the pistol. Why? Because the pistol is for conditioned athletes who destroy you. This is not good if your defense is designed for drop back passing and slow developing run plays from under center. The exhausting high paced pounding of well oiled pistol offences is best done with a smaller faster almost full backs  as a guards. The center too is an aggressive fire out zone blocking animal in a pistol. Tackles push and move the piles forward at least 3 yards, every play with zone blocking. The Pistol QB is a ball handling magician who is also your fastest back on the field with a passing attack too that hits 20 to 30 yards down field every time the defense starts playing the run too tight. When the pistol is not running over or past you in a seam then it passes. Kaepernick and and his coaches at Reno perfected the Pistol, without high profile backs and receivers. They punished all they opposed including an undefeated Boise who they dethroned from their Number 1 ranking on national television. Kaepernick perfected Pistol execution and ball handling... at Reno. Camera men and players had a hard time finding who had the ball and this was the case on most plays. Kaepernick always continued as though he had the ball after he handed off on the quick hitters up the middle to his power back and then when he kept the ball 1/2 of the defense was still tackling the power back. Now the 49ers pistol is poorly executed, he never continues to run the seam after he hands off to the power back, and still the 49ers account for more yardage per play from the Pistol than from any other formation, especially when they execute even a poor read option play.

San Francisco 49es Loose - run best plays least again - Yawn

Most teams study what works best, practice most on what they do best and run their best plays more than marginal plays The San Francisco Roman offense is not paying attention to play calling. Not all run plays are equal. Not all pass plays are equal. Vegas odds makers can do a better job on play selection than San Francisco does. Sad to see them running under center and empty backfield shotguns when the pistol and the power sweep would have won the game EZ. Zone block read option pistol to Gore 3 times, a keeper, 2 sweeps and a 25 yard pistol play action pass TD. EZ Recipe.  Cut bait or catch fish. Officials stunk bad.

San Francisco 49er Play Selection and Bad Officials Create Bear Victory

Bad San Francisco 49er play selection and officiating best describe the Sunday night BBQ enjoyed by Bears who feasted on a suffering Colin Kaepernick crucified by referees and wisdumb from the 49er Roman Offense. The Roman Offense continues to display stubborn insistence to not re-run what works, insisting instead upon running again and again what does not work. In the 4th Quarter the predictable 2014 San Francisco 49er offense did not attack the Bears from their pistol but retreated instead using predictable drop back high risk plays. Does the play selection smell fishy to you?
The facts are simple. Gore, Kaepernick, and the team prosper when they attack fast and hard with their pistol forcing defenses to react and get tired. When fat O linemen retreat in drop back pass blocking, that is uplifting for defense. Unpredictable pistol zone blocking schemes are hard work for defenses and yields twice the yardage per carry as compared to QB under center plays. Pistol plays do better in the NFL than do QB under center plays. Wild cat or shotgun zone blocking run plays are less effective than pistol zone blocking run plays. These are facts. Why do facts play no factor in the 2014 choke perfected, Roman O strategies?  Is the San Francisco 49er offense predictable? Why not throw to Crabtree again on the last play of the game, in a win / lose situation.... surprise, he did not make the catch - oh my such a surprise?

San Francisco 49ers 2014 Preseason

If the San Francisco 49ers had perfected the Reno Pistol Offense in 2012, they would have 2 super bowl rings and be playing for a third in 2014. Will the 49ers plan, play, and achieve caution with predictable mediocrity in 2014? - aka - Roman Offense. The Reno Pistol O can score 40 to 50 points. Hyde, Gore, Kaepernick each can rush 1200 yards this season. Kaepernick can easily throw 4000 yards -20 TDs and 5 Int if defenses must stop their pistol. Kaepernick is freaking fast - Gore and Hyde bust guts - receivers can score from anywhere on the field.  Simple truth.

PS - Many fast, fit, young offensive linemen in the league now who can zone block well - replace overpriced, fat, drop, back linemen who hold out. Trade the Boon dog for a high draft pick. Recruit an expert Pistol O coordinator plus 2 fast, fit, zone blocking linemen..

September 22, 2013 49ers Lose Again - Tough Run Option Not Used - Forced Passing Fails Again

The first quarter drive by the 49ers scored a touchdown as they appeared ready to run the ball down the Colts throat until they choked. Instead, they wasted the game using the same forced pass attack strategies that failed against the Seahawks.  They looked bad. On the few read option plays they ran, they tried not to fool anyone and seemed more afraid of injury than wanting to score. Throwing short of a 1st down or sliding quickly are 2013 priorities for QB Kaepernick who was taught these things. Speed and his strong arm are of little benefit now because he plays afraid. Coach was afraid of losing Kaepernick, so he put fear inside of Kaepernick... so now Kaepernick no longer is a threat. The only reason the Packers lost was because they played for the run and that left a pass game open. Seahawks and Colts dared Kaepernick to run as they shut down his pass game... his opportunity was to use read option 50 yard scoring plays by alternating running, passes, and quick hitting hard running plays by Gore based on a good read and good execution. Instead 49ers ran motion, changed sets, lined up in the I formation, and modified old planned plays. Teaching Kaepernick this mediocrity and a multitude of sets does not perfect what he does best. A path to ruin is where the 49ers offense walks now. They are a timid, confused offense trying to brain ways to victory instead of being the good athletes they are, playing hard, and executing well what they do best.

The Colts and Seahawks have each out played and out coached the 49ers. The 49ers offense are now masters of nothing.  The 49ers offence does everything now but does nothing very well, like a practice squad, so perhaps just playing the practice squad is their next move. The 49er defence played well in both games but showed a defeated attitude by giving up in the 4th quarter of both games.

Half Measures Fail 49ers - 49ers Loose To Seahawks - September 2013

Half measures fail the 49ers and they loose to the Seahawks. - The 49ers offense tried blending new pistol ideas with old drop back, complex play calling, motion, formation adjustments and some read options... the results were clear - they harmed more effective, quick play, exhausting, brutal, pistol read ya beat ya strategies... Hawks D was too good for half measures or fools play.... Kaepernick did not read then act on open plays to exhaust their defense, nor did he play to score on every play - instead he was just another NFL pocket passer - who can slide. Can he still be the great Pistol read ya beat ya QB athlete that he was becoming?  He was on track to be the best Pistol QB athlete in the NFL. Is mediocrity as a pocket passing ex-pistol athlete his new destiny?  Kaep was guessing and was confused against the Hawks... end of story. Some of it was his problem and some was coaching error. There are times when a QB takes control and runs his best stuff to win and he chooses when to do this. Kaepernick needs to know when and what he will do when these times arise.... Superbowl end of the game and Hawks game are examples of when Kaepernick needed to go out there and do his best stuff. Kaepernick knows what he does best and he knows how to use it. He is intelligent. No excuses from or for him. What will he do?  Interesting to watch for this next week.

Packers Lose At 49ers 2013 Opener - Pistol Guns Down Old Linebacker Who Talks Too Much.

49ers Packers 2013 Season Opener - My Time Machine just brought me home, the game was great.

Pistol shots beat Pack as 49ers run 70% Pistol Formation plays - 20% planned passes 20% planned running and 60% no huddle read option plays. Pack overplays Kaep for outside running and gOre guts them inside with 130 yards rushing 2 TDs plus a TD reception on the best play of the game in the red zone - Kaep starts outside then passes through ez pass lane to Gore in the end zone as packers confused, fail to tackle Gore on the fake handoff chasing Kaep instead. Kaep Throws 2 more TDs to Davis and runs for another TD as 49ers win 41 to 24.

PS - Mathews takes a beating from trap blocks by Davis and a furious ground game. You gotta see this one. < :0)

49ers Roster September 1, 2013 Forecast A Win Over Packers 40 to 24

Colin Kaepernick, Colt McCoy, B.J. Daniels, Anquan Boldin, Marlon Moore, Jon Baldwin, Kyle Williams, Quinton Patton, Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James, Anthony Dixon, Bruce Miller Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald, Garrett Celek , Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Jonathan Goodwin, Alex Boone, Anthony Davis, Daniel Kilgore, Adam Snyder, Joe Looney, Aldon Smith, Justin Smith, Ian Williams, Ray McDonald, Glenn Dorsey, Will Tukuafu, Tony Jerod-Eddie, Cam Johnson, Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman, Michael Wilhoite, Nate Stupar, Nick Moody, Ahmad Brooks, Corey Lemonier, Dan Skuta, Carlos Rogers, Tarell Brown, Nnamdi Asomugha, Tramaine Brock, Perrish Cox, Eric Reid, Donte Whitner, Craig Dahl, C.J. Spillman, Ray Ventrone, Phil Dawson, Andy Lee, Kevin McDermott.
Maybe resign Hawkins or Lockette, and Hampton - Trade or cut McCoy and ? - Speedy ends and running backs play well on kickoffs and punts. McCoy is ok - but maybe not good enough for 49ers and maybe not so good on a punt or kickoff.
The Packers and 49ers, 2013 season opener is next  Sunday, and 49ers special teams need good coverage on punts and kickoffs. The 49ers offence and defence get tested by a revenge minded Pack attack. The forecast... Gore guts the packers from the pistol formation and Kaep finds open receivers from read option playbook as Packer safeties play run.
49ers win 40 to 24 :0)

49ers Vs Vikings NFL Football August 25, 2013 Sunday Night - San Francisco Home Team

The San Francisco 49ers home game tomorrow night against Minnesota is shaping up as another wringing of the hands over who to keep.  Protecting players is a good idea however players need also to play well and often to if they are to improve. This preseason has been used to evaluate talent by the 49ers which is a good thing yet some of the competition has used preseason to perfect their play. The 49ers must consider ways to improve the O game during regular season play now, hoping their defense can keep them in early games when the O must grow some legs. Catching up to teams who used preseason more to improve O than to evaluate talent is the next task for the 49ers. Eagle Duck O attack is growing wings from tireless efforts and they will hit the regular season in full stride. Seahawks, Lions, and Eagles, are each improving O during pre-season as a focus. The 49ers protected health and evaluated talent as their preseason focus. Perfect or evaluate, the balance is a concern for all teams.

New 49ers Blog Spot News - Pistol Read Option Secrets - Lockette Out - Tolzien and McCoy Next?

The 49ers plan is to set a new NFL scoring record with young, healthy, skilled players who now have the ability to set the record this year. Is this a secret? The 49ers can unleash now their new, fast and furious attack - 75% of these plays come from the 49ers pistol, read option playbook. This attack has few or no huddles and increases their average scoring to 40 points per game. The 2013 Kaepernick Pistol San Francisco O can win an NFL record for scoring, 640 points this season. The current record set in 2007 and is held by the Patriots who scored 589 points. Those Patriots went undefeated in 2007, won two playoff games, and then they lost the Superbowl to the Giants.

Some people think the Seahawks or Redskins can brake the scoring record before the 49ers because San Francisco invests too much time in the old West Coast playbook. I think maybe the Eagles with Mike Vick and coach Chip Kelly are the real other threat to break this record, as every day all day long... even now they are developing the new Eagle Duck attack...  they plan to break the record first by running more plays per game, better and faster than anyone else.

a new 49er arrived this week as another left. Lockette was cut yesterday. I thought McCoy and Tolzien were getting the axe.  Coach fooled me, maybe he knows something I do not... ya-think?  BJ Daniels is the only backup QB on the team good enough to be a 49er, he is the Kaepernick backup. The other 3 QB backup circus of mediocrity is either a diversion or mistake. B.J. Daniels already has good skill, talent, and attitude, with proven abilities to run, pass and score at will using read option plays. Daniels needs more playing time, a good reason to dump the other 3 guys who can't win by their experience as many games as Daniels can win with his talent, skill, and athletic ability.

San Francisco 49ers Football - 2013 Preseason - Minnesota @ San Francisco - Season and Game Forecasting -

Forecast - The 49ers defense will be in the NFL top 3 statistically for lowest points allowed 2013/2014. This defense is looking very good in practice and preseason, really shutting down both running and passing with a good pass rush and tight coverage on the receivers. The performance and attitude of these defensive football athletes are on track for greatness.  Making the cut on this team is a real chore for players in 2013. Only a great athlete improving consistently can make this roster. Coaches are giving the players opportunities to perform and these players are responding well.

Offense - A guarded look at the 49ers offence in the first two preseason games has not revealed much other than which players are not good enough to make this team. Perhaps preseason week 3 or 4 will show if the offence is ready to begin the regular season schedule. Coaching is too conservative on offense, using too often old well known west coast plays. Perfecting potential in these good athletes requires evolving the pistol formation with the read offense. Offense advantages in the pistol include vision and execution for a QB, running backs benefit from timing and attack angles, and receivers gain a step on line backers and safeties. These advantages are real. The quarterback never turns back to the the line of scrimmage and he is closer than a wildcat or shotgun formation. Quick openers hit fast and defense has little time to read which QB option is occurring. The 49ers can average 40 points per game this year just by perfecting the read option pistol as their primary weapon. Using the pistol only as a change up offense, results in poor TD numbers - this is what cost the 49ers their Superbowl last year. They relapsed and called timing passes to the end zone which have lower success rates compared to many pistol, read option, red zone plays.

Minnesota at San Francisco - My preseason game three Forecast - The home crowd will enjoy seeing their players anchor slots on the roster. - Halftime SF 21 Minnesota 0 - Final 49ers 34 Vikings 14.

August 20, 2013 - My forecast for 2013/14 regular season. If the 49ers turn their offence loose in a fast pace, read option, pistol offense, with Kaepernick backed up by Daniels, the 49ers will shred the NFL scoring record and they will win the Superbowl.  If old offensive play calling persists, these coaches will keep their talent from reaching full potential and the year will be another bite ur nails season with many close games, very similar to last season.
